BayRivo Cancellation & Refund Policy
Effective date: August 21, 2026
This policy describes the cancellation and refund behavior currently implemented by BayRivo. It applies to reservations made through the BayRivo iOS app in the United States and charged in U.S. dollars.
Borrower cancellations
A borrower may cancel a reservation only strictly before two hours prior to the reservation start time.
- Example: if a reservation begins at 3:00 p.m., the borrower must cancel before 1:00 p.m.
- At 1:00 p.m. or later, cancellation by the borrower is not allowed through the current service.
- When an eligible paid reservation is cancelled before the cutoff, BayRivo initiates a full refund of the original booking amount.
- A free reservation has no payment to refund.
The server determines eligibility using the stored reservation times and current server time. The app cannot override the cutoff or refund amount.
Owner cancellations
An owner may cancel a reservation any time before the reservation end time.
- When an owner cancels a paid reservation, BayRivo initiates a full refund to the borrower.
- Cancelling a free reservation cancels the booking without a payment refund.
- A reservation that has ended or is completed cannot be cancelled.
Owners should cancel only when necessary and should contact support if a parking-access issue may affect a resident.
Refund processing
For an accepted paid cancellation, the reservation is cancelled and its payment may initially display Refund processing. BayRivo initiates a full economic reversal through Stripe, including recovery of the owner transfer and the BayRivo application fee where applicable.
A refund is shown as Refunded only after Stripe authoritatively confirms successful completion. If the refund is pending or an inconsistency requires reconciliation, the app continues to show that processing is underway rather than claiming success.
After Stripe completes a refund, the borrower's card issuer or bank may need additional time to display the credit. Processing time varies by financial institution. BayRivo does not promise that a refund will appear instantly on a card statement.
Availability after cancellation
Cancellation does not always recreate a listing. Availability may be relisted only when the existing time and conflict rules permit it. In particular, a cancellation near or after the reservation start may remain in history without making the original time period bookable again. Relisting is server-controlled and idempotent so that a cancellation or retry does not create duplicate availability.
Payment failures and abandoned checkout
A verified payment failure does not create a confirmed reservation. BayRivo releases the failed unpaid hold and restores the original availability when it is safe to do so. If a borrower closes the payment sheet without paying, the temporary hold remains available for retry until it expires. An abandoned hold may take up to the scheduled expiration interval to be released.
These payment-failure rules are not cancellation refunds because no completed payment is being returned.
Disputes and help
Do not submit duplicate cancellation requests or initiate a bank dispute merely because a refund is still processing. Check the reservation status and contact support@bayrivo.com with the minimum information needed to identify the booking. Do not send passwords or complete payment-card details.
Chargebacks, card disputes, and financial-institution processing are also subject to Stripe and card-network rules. BayRivo may retain operational and financial records needed to reconcile a refund or resolve a dispute.
